Proposed
ReNew Amston data centers on Old Amston Road
Also called: ReNew Amston 1, ReNew Amston 2, Connecticut Data Park
ReNew Developers wants two data centers in the woods on Old Amston Road, powered by fuel cells on site. The state approved the fuel cells years ago, but the town would need to change zoning first. Neighbors raised worries about traffic, noise, water and lighting.
Where things stand: State approved the fuel cells in 2022 and 2023. A town zoning change is still needed; no formal application reported yet.
๐ Latest update (Oct 6, 2026): Residents packed a town hall meeting to oppose the plan; some asked for a moratorium.
