A land company plans a huge AI data center campus on about 2,000 acres of desert west of the White Tank Mountains. It could cost about $25 billion and use about 1 gigawatt of power. Hundreds of neighbors signed petitions against it, but county supervisors approved it.
Where things stand: County supervisors approved a land use change in Dec 2025 and a further approval in April 2026. No building permit or user is public.
