Local votes and rules
π³οΈ Public vote
A residents' group began a petition for a city ballot measure with rules for any future La Pine data center: a nighttime noise limit, no low-frequency noise, shielded lighting and yearly reports on power, water, generator use and jobs. It needs 362 valid signatures. Whether it made the ballot is not known.
β Turned down
After hours of public comment, La Pine City Council voted unanimously not to sell 19.5 acres of industrial park land to Boxminer for a 20-megawatt data center. In March the council had voted (non-binding) to start the sale process.
