Jersey City's council unanimously passed Ordinance 26-057. It removes data centers and 'cyber hotels' as allowed uses in the industrial district, so new stand-alone data centers can't be built there. The five existing data centers inside office buildings are not affected.

🚫 Ban · Bayonne
Bayonne's council voted 5-0 to ban data centers in every zone of the city (Ordinance O-26-74). The mayor signed it the next day. Three data centers already in the city were allowed to stay.
