The town council voted unanimously for a three-year pause on data centers inside town limits. It followed a data center proposal on about 200 acres off Wright Road. The council also asked staff to draft a full ban.

County commissioners passed a one-year pause on data centers in the parts of the county outside towns. County staff will not process applications or review site plans for data centers while it is in effect. It does not cover Federalsburg or other towns.
