Local votes and rules
π Data center rules
Today data centers are allowed without a special hearing in many parts of New Bedford. Mayor Jon Mitchell proposed an ordinance that would require a special permit from the zoning board plus the mayor's approval. It would let the city ask for limits on water, power and noise, and direct payments. It is waiting for a City Council vote.
