Berthoud trustees voted 5-2 for a one-year pause on applications for large data centers. The town has no data center application. The mayor said the pause could be extended if more time is needed.

Loveland City Council voted 7-2 to pause new land use applications for data centers needing 10 megawatts or more, for up to 12 months or until new rules are adopted. Smaller projects are still allowed. The city's current data center rules date from 2018.
⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Larimer County
Larimer County stopped taking land use applications for new data centers in unincorporated areas on Jan. 27, 2026. It extended the pause on Feb. 9 (to Aug. 25) and again on July 13, 2026, to Feb. 25, 2027, while it writes data center rules. No site application has been filed.
