County planners proposed defining data centers in the zoning rules, banning them in the commercial zone, and requiring a conditional use permit in the industrial zone. A hearing was set for April 8, 2026. We could not confirm a final vote. In August the county planning director still said data centers were allowed by right in commercial and industrial zones.
