⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Snohomish County

Snohomish County Council voted unanimously for a six-month emergency pause on new or bigger data centers in unincorporated areas (Emergency Ordinance 26-026). It covers sites planned to use 2 megawatts or more. It does not apply inside cities. A hearing was held Aug. 19; most speakers asked for a full ban. The council can renew it in six-month steps.
