Kittitas County commissioners voted 2-0 for a six-month emergency pause on land use applications for data centers in unincorporated areas (Resolution 2026-141). The county is making a one-year plan to write rules. A hearing on adding six more months was set for Sept. 15, 2026; the result was not found.
⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Cle Elum
Cle Elum City Council voted unanimously at a special meeting for a six-month emergency pause on applications for data centers and high-intensity computing sites. It came days after Blue Fern Development floated a 20-megawatt, about $200 million data center at the Bullfrog Flats site. It is unclear if the pause applies, because that site has an older development agreement.
