Pasco City Council voted unanimously to pause new business license and permit applications for data centers, crypto mining, AI and other high-density computing sites for up to six months. Before this, data centers were allowed by right in the I-2 and I-3 industrial zones. No applications had been filed. A hearing was held Sept. 8; some residents asked for a longer pause.
