🗺️ Zoning change
South Burlington changed its zoning rules to ban data centers with a footprint bigger than 20,000 square feet. Very small ones (5,000 square feet or less) count as normal businesses. The Planning Commission wrote the rules as part of a routine update; the City Council held its hearing in August. City planners called it a first step before more study.
