Hamblen County held a public hearing on Sept. 24, 2026 on a one-year pause on permits for sites that use 5 megawatts or more, such as data centers, crypto mines and supercomputer sites. Industrial land in the First Civil District would be exempt. The county planning commission voted for the pause on July 6, 2026. We did not find the final commission vote.
