Crossville City Council passed on final reading a two-year pause on new data centers and crypto mines in city limits. No new conditional use permits, site plans or building approvals for them. Existing sites that do not grow are exempt. It came after noise complaints about a bitcoin mine in town.

⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Unincorporated Cumberland County
Cumberland County Commission voted unanimously for a two-year pause on building, starting or running data centers in the county (RES 06-2026-31). County Mayor Allen Foster said it gives planners and utilities time to study the effects before writing permanent rules.
