⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Unincorporated Yankton County
Commissioners voted unanimously for a 6-month pause on permits for data centers and bitcoin mining sites. They can add 6 more months if no data center rules are written by then. They told the planning and zoning commission to start writing those rules right away. Two weeks earlier, on July 7, a motion for a pause had failed and the board voted 4-0 to hold a hearing first.
