Data center proposed on orchard land in Dallesport
Orchard land in Dallesport has been pitched for a data center of 300 MW or more. The local power utility asked BPA to study connecting it, and a new substation near Lyle was proposed. The landowner has not picked a developer, and the county is writing rules that could block data centers here.
Where things stand: Early stage: the power request is in a BPA study. No developer chosen and no county application filed.
🕒 Latest update (Sept 29, 2026): County planning director said a draft interim rule (no data centers within 1 mile of homes zones) would rule out Dallesport.
