Google is adding two large data centers on the old Northwest Aluminum site in The Dalles. The city approved them in 2022 and 2024. Under a 20-year tax deal, Google pays $3 million per building plus yearly fees in place of most property taxes.

Where things stand: City approved both buildings (2022 and Jan. 2024). Trackers say they opened in 2025-26, not confirmed by Google.
