Local votes and rules
βΈοΈ Pause on new data centers
City Council voted 7-2 to narrow its data center pause. It now covers only large data centers that use more than 75 megawatts of power. Sites at the Expand Energy campus and near the OKC Outlet Mall were also exempted.

Oklahoma City Council voted unanimously to stop taking new applications, rezonings and building permits for data centers until December 31, 2026, or sooner if the city adopts data center zoning rules. Two pending data center rezoning cases were left out of the pause, and owners can appeal.
