Bitdeer AI computing campus at Hannibal Industrial Park (former Ormet site)
Also called: Bitdeer Clarington, Erie Creek LLC
Bitdeer leased land at the old Ormet aluminum plant site near Hannibal and says it could get up to 570 megawatts of power there for AI computing. A steel company in the same industrial park sued, saying the project would interfere with its power, roads and rail. Bitdeer says the lawsuit could delay the project.
Where things stand: Bitdeer has a 30-year lease, but a neighboring company sued in 2026 to stop construction. The case is pending.
๐ Latest update (Feb 2, 2026): A steel company leasing part of the park sued Bitdeer and the port authority in Monroe County court to protect shared roads, power and rail.
