Buck Canyon data center (Adams County)
Also called: 68 Yards LLC, Buck Canyon Properties
A developer plans up to 12 data center buildings on the old Buck Canyon landfill site near Manchester. It would need 1,300 megawatts, about 30 times what all of Adams County uses, and clear about 320 acres of forest. Residents are petitioning to stop it.
Where things stand: Federal wetland permit for site work issued Feb. 18, 2026. The power request starts at 100 megawatts in 2028 and grows to 1,300 megawatts by 2032.
π Latest update (March 2026): Monroe and Sprigg townships passed measures restricting data centers. Voters began petitions to block the project.
