The city council voted 5-0 for Kearney's first data center zoning rules instead of a pause. Data centers need a conditional use permit, water and wastewater studies, and must meet a 55-decibel average noise cap.

The city council voted 5-0 to approve a conditional use permit for the Tech One Crossing data center campus. It replaces a bitcoin mine and could use 368 megawatts when fully built.
