Echelon Data Centres, an Irish company, signed a letter of intent with Lauderdale County to buy about 300 acres in the Sonny Montgomery Industrial Park for a data center. Mississippi Power is planning about 500 megawatts for the site. It would be the county's second big data center after Compass.
