Amazon Web Services is building a $10 billion data center campus on about 850 acres north of I-70 near New Florence. The first phase has four buildings and a new substation, with about a dozen more buildings later. A residents' group has sued the county over how it was approved.
Where things stand: County approved tax deal December 2025; construction started April 2026. A lawsuit against the county is pending.

A resident group, Preserve Montgomery County, sued the county commission. It says meetings on the Amazon data center broke the Sunshine Law, and asks to undo the tax break plan and the February development agreement.
