Local votes and rules

Board of Aldermen voted unanimously for a one-year pause on data center permits, approvals and building inside city limits. It also took back its support for the MO Lake Development project.
β Turned down
After a huge turnout of opponents, the county commission voted not to recommend a large tract near Camdenton for federal Opportunity Zone status, which had been linked to a possible data center.
π Data center rules
County commission passed a countywide ordinance with very strict rules for data centers: they must make their own power, may only use collected rainwater, get no tax breaks, and face fines up to $50,000 a day.
