Verrus wants to build a 1.8 million square foot data center on 172 acres in Lyon Township, near homes and an elementary school. Planners gave conditional approval in 2025, but the final plan has not been approved. Residents raised noise, water and power line concerns.
Where things stand: Conditional site plan approval in Sept. 2025. Final site plan was still pending in Sept. 2026; the township paused other new data centers.

Lyon Township paused new data center applications for 180 days. It does not cover the already-approved 'Project Flex' campus, whose final plans are still under review.
✋ Turned down
Lyon Township's board denied an easement for the Project Flex developer's stormwater work. The developer's lawyer warned of a lawsuit if approval is delayed further.
