Dafter Township bitcoin mine (Odessa)
A bitcoin mine with six computer pods on 10 acres opened in March 2025 across from a small school in Dafter Township. The school says the fan noise, about 70 to 75 decibels, disrupts classes and sued. The company stacked hay bales to cut the noise and says it is now much quieter.
Where things stand: Running since March 2025. A neighboring school's noise lawsuit was still going in county court in summer 2026.
π Latest update (Aug 17, 2026): A hearing in the school's lawsuit was set in Chippewa County's 50th Circuit Court.
