The company that runs a bitcoin mine in Hopkinsville wants to build a second, 50-megawatt data center somewhere else in the city. It says it would pay for a new substation. Hopkinsville is writing rules that would ban data centers of 75 megawatts or more.
Where things stand: Proposed in July 2026 while Hopkinsville writes its first data center zoning rules. No application approved.
