DCIP Group AI data center campus (Roan Street, DeSoto County)
DCIP Group wants to build more than a dozen gas-powered AI data centers on up to 1,300 acres at a closed power plant on Roan Street. The county approved the first 34 acres. Residents oppose the larger expansion, which is still pending.
Where things stand: County rezoned the first 34 acres in March 2026. Rezoning for 800+ more acres is pending and was left out of the July 2026 moratorium.
π Latest update (July 28, 2026): County commissioners passed a one-year data center moratorium 4-0 but left out DCIP's pending applications.
