Proposed
Golden Valley Technology Hub (Elk Hills)
Also called: Beacon Golden Valley Tech Hub
Oil company CRC wants to turn about 100 acres of old oilfield land near Taft into an AI data center of about 400,000 square feet with its own substation. It would get power from CRC's own gas power plant nearby. It still needs county permits and an environmental review.
Where things stand: Company says a county use permit was filed; environmental report planned for late 2026. Not approved.
