Proposed
Beacon Calvert Infrastructure Hub
Canadian company Beacon plans a $6 billion, two-building data center campus on 95 acres of a 650-acre site near Calvert. It says it will use closed-loop cooling and no diesel backup generators. The land is already zoned for industry.
Where things stand: Site is already zoned industrial, so no county vote is needed. Construction planned to start by end of 2026.
๐ Latest update (July 28, 2026): Beacon presented the project at a Mobile County Commission meeting; some residents raised concerns.
