- Oct 8, 2026: We checked the borough's 2023 environmental site report (near Mile 7.1 Zimovia Highway) and the state cleanup record for the old Wrangell sawmill. Satellite pictures show the cleared mill yard at that spot.

The Assembly voted unanimously to turn down Greensparc's request to lease borough land at the 6-Mile Mill deepwater port for a 10,000-square-foot data center. The borough manager said the waterfront should be kept for marine businesses. The planning commission had recommended approval 3-2 in January.
