Stak Energy North Slope data center campus
Also called: STAK Energy Campus, ADL 422741
A company called Stak Energy wants to build a huge computer campus on about 715 acres of state land on the North Slope, south of Deadhorse. It would make its own power from natural gas, up to 3 gigawatts, which is more than urban Alaska uses. The state has said yes in a first decision, but no final lease, gas deal or building permits exist yet.
Where things stand: The state made a first (preliminary) decision in May 2026 to lease the land for 50 years. The final decision and other permits are still pending.
๐ Latest update (July 17, 2026): Public comment period closed. Only people who commented can appeal the final decision.
