Endicott oil field Bitcoin mining pilot
Also called: TA Infrastructure Endicott pilot
A Texas company asked the state for permission to run a small Bitcoin mining test in a shipping container at an oil field on the North Slope, using gas already there. It was meant to test whether bigger data centers could work in the Arctic. It is not known if it is running.
Where things stand: A state land permit was sought in late 2024 for a 4-year test. We found no report on whether it was built or is running.
🕒 Latest update (Nov 2024): TA Infrastructure applied to state land managers to put a shipping-container Bitcoin mining test at Hilcorp's Endicott field, running for 4 years.
