After a packed hearing with about 200 people, Pittsburg County commissioners put off creating two tax increment districts (a tax deal) for IREN's 2,000-acre Project Emerald data center near Kiowa, and sent them back to the review committee to look at new cost numbers. The committee had backed the plan in May 2026.
