βοΈ Court case Β· Washoe County
NV Energy sued data center developer Tract to stop a private arbitration about how much power the utility must supply, and when, to Tract's Peru Shelf and South Valley projects at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. NV Energy says these questions belong at the state utility commission so that other customers do not pay the costs. Tract says the contracts require arbitration.
π Data center rules
Sparks City Council voted in September 2025 to start drafting data center rules. As of August 2026 nothing was final; the city is waiting for advice from the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency.
