Cumberland County paused data center building in unincorporated areas for six months. Staff will write data center rules in the meantime. Concerns included power, water and noise.

Fayetteville City Council voted 6-3 not to pass a data center pause yet, and to study the issue for 120 more days instead. On April 13 it had voted 5-4 to stop work on a data center ordinance and look at a pause.
