⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Baltimore
The city council passed a one-year pause on data centers that use 10 megawatts or more (Council Bill 26-0158). Mayor Brandon Scott signed it and it took effect June 16, 2026. The city planning department must study the effects on power, bills, the economy and health within nine months.
