Warren County Fiscal Court passed data center rules written by the joint city-county planning commission. Data centers must be 1,500 feet from homes and schools and 500 feet from property lines, and only in certain areas. Developers must pay for power, water and sewer upgrades and have a removal plan.

Bowling Green's commissioners voted 5-0 for zoning rules on data centers. They limit energy and water use, noise and light, require a 1,500-foot buffer from homes, and make data centers pay their utility costs and plan for removal. A six-month pause on data centers was voted down 3-2, on June 2 and again on June 16.

Bowling Green commissioners voted 3-2 against a six-month pause on data centers, for the second time. The first try failed on June 2, 2026. The city passed zoning rules for data centers instead.
