⏸️ Pause on new data centers

Scott County Fiscal Court passed a six-month pause on data centers in March 2026 and, on June 25, 2026, extended it to the end of 2026. The Georgetown-Scott County Planning Commission cannot accept or approve data center applications during the pause. Georgetown City Council voted to support it. Draft rules released in August 2026 would allow data centers only in the I-2 heavy industrial zone.
