π€ Agreement with the company
Owensboro's city-owned utility (OMU) signed an option giving Green River East GenCo, LLC up to five years to lease or buy more than 100 acres of riverfront and Highway 60 land near the old Elmer Smith power plant. A data center developer is linked to the option. OMU said it keeps planned power loads secret. In May 2026 the city said no data center project was under consideration.
