The presiding county commissioner asked the board to consider a one- to two-year pause on data centers, solar, wind and battery storage on land outside city limits. A draft was to come back to the board. We found no final vote.
π€ Agreement with the company
The city signed a pre-development agreement for a data center north of town. It was later changed: the site grew to 283 acres and the city dropped its power and tax-break promises. The planning commission is still reviewing.
