Supervisors voted 3-0 to pass a data center ordinance in one day and then a 12-month pause on building data centers in the countryside. The rules cover sites using 5 megawatts or more, including crypto mining. Land with a crop rating of 55 or higher is treated as better for farming. The ordinance does not regulate water.
