County commissioners passed a 12-month pause on new data centers that use 50 megawatts or more, in unincorporated Marion County. It ends sooner if new rules are adopted. One commissioner voted no on the first vote because she wanted smaller ones covered too. Staff will draft rules on noise, grid capacity, setbacks and water.
