⏸️ Pause on new data centers
County commissioners unanimously moved ahead with an 18-month pause on large data centers and other very large power users. They first backed the idea in June and July. The final public hearing is set for Oct. 13, 2026. A state-law exemption for land damaged by hurricanes Debby or Helene is in the draft.
