⏸️ Pause on new data centers

County commissioners voted 7-0 to have the county attorney draft a pause on large AI data centers in unincorporated Hillsborough, and 7-0 for a study of water use. A 2025 state law (SB 180) bars new pauses after hurricanes, so the draft would take effect after Oct. 1, 2027.
