Logan County adopted Resolution 2026-5, which requires a special use permit for data centers of 1 megawatt or more. Neighbors within one mile and mineral owners must be notified, and a wildlife plan and road agreement are required.

Logan County commissioners paused data center, wind, solar and battery projects in October 2025 while they wrote new rules. They lifted the pause in early 2026 after adopting data center permit rules.
